BEC emerges from the will to answer to a concept that was undeveloped in 1996, interior design and the creation of global construction solutions.
It was this positioning that aroused particular interest from national and international architects. This trust from customers and partners has been maintained for over 25 years, being a huge pride for BEC.
The history of BEC
Benefiting from the geographical location of its facilities in Braga, in the north of Portugal, and from the close links with the best qualified artisans, BEC has solid partnerships and holdings in companies from various sectors, such as electricity, air conditioning, decorative metalwork, marble and natural stones, that made it possible to answer to the most demanding challenges.
During the first years, at a time of great expansion of shopping centers in Portugal, the company's growth came from the retail area. A close relationship with this area induced in the company's structure a strong awareness of compliance with deadlines and great attention to detail. In 2010, BEC's strategy aligned with a new direction, now also focusing on residential and hospitality. This growth reinforced the company's expansion and internationalization and allowed the evolution of specialized departments that gave rise to new independent structures, namely BEC-Carpintaria, BEC-Climatização (Climatization AVAC), BEC France and ConstruBEC in Morocco, and a new technical assistance department that extends the relationship with customers beyond the end of each project, guaranteeing a unique service.
Over the years, BEC has reached clients in Europe and other parts of the world and all of them choose BEC as their favorite in the execution and management of interior design project. To respond to the administrative needs and to be closer to international operations, company branches were created in France, United Kingdom and Morocco.

The founder of BEC
Paulo Baptista
In 1996, after five years of experience in the construction industry, Paulo Baptista, an engineer by training and the son of a carpenter, founded a company capable of offering turnkey projects with decor and furniture included, combining his passion for interior architecture to his academic training. Thus, BEC was born.
In addition to founding his own company, Paulo Baptista allied himself with strategic partners and took on stakes in electricity, air conditioning, decorative metalwork, marble, and natural stone companies. To meet the high-quality standards demanded by customers, he understood that BEC should have its own carpentry unit to fully control all production details. From his father's work, he learned the importance of details and from his experience in construction, the importance and ability to meet deadlines.
Fashion brands, restaurants, and architects, value his competence in all crafts, with deadlines and budgets met, combined with his transparency, reliability, and flexibility, which are some of the qualities mentioned by the interior architects who choose BEC.
